MADE IN FINLAND
Everything about our Production
Transparency all the way
At Samooja, we believe in uncompromising values and transparency in our production process. Our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices is evident in every aspect of our Samooja pants.
We've carefully selected a Swedish manufacturer specializing in technical textiles for our fabric, chosen not just for its functionality but also for its visual appeal in urban settings. The fabric is stretchable, quick-drying, and stain-resistant, setting the standard for future iterations designed for extreme conditions.
The drawstrings, elastic bands, and many components are sourced within Europe, with a focus on domestic suppliers. Our wooden buttons and buckles are made from Finnish birch plywood, laser-cut in Helsinki.
Why produce in Finland?
Finland is best known for its picturesque landscapes featuring thousands of lakes, dense forests, and an extensive archipelago—a perfect haven for outdoor activities and sports. As lovers of nature, choosing local craftsmanship was for us an ethical and sustainable choice, especially when the most common alternative is producing clothes from across the globe.
Our dedication to Finnish craftsmanship is what really sets us apart. The sewing process takes place in Finland. We have two individual seamstress in Turku and Ypäjä. Even the logo label inside the pants is sourced from a Finnish manufacturer in Lahti.
In an industry where the system is often flawed, we refuse to compromise. We recognize the challenges of scaling a business and have chosen to prioritize sustainability, fair pricing, low logistic CO2 emissions, and high-quality tailoring. While production costs in Finland may be higher than in other regions, we believe in delivering products that align with our values.
Why pre-order model?
Operating primarily through pre-orders allows us to accurately anticipate demand, ensuring that we only produce what we sell. This not only reduces waste but also reflects our commitment to responsible and conscious consumerism.
We invite you to join us in making a positive impact. Choose a product that not only meets your needs but also aligns with your values. Thank you for being a part of our journey towards a more ethical and sustainable future.
